SSC/ELAC/CEAC Meeting – Thursday, 10/14/10 at 3pm
We welcome parents & neighbors to come to the SSC, ELAC & SEAC meeting this Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 3pm. ELECTIONS for the School Site Council (SSC), the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee (CEAC), and the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) will be held in the library or assembly room. Come meet other parents and help guide our direction at Westside Leadership. Gates open for on-campus parking at 2:50pm., and snacks will be provided.

Westside Leadership Students Help Save L.A. Foot by Foot
Check out this article in the LA Weekly about the restoration project on the Venice Grand Canal – located in our school’s backyard. Thanks to Marcia Hanscom & Roy van de Hoek of Ballona Institute and our amazing teachers, our students have played an important part in reinvigorating this precious ecosystem.
$3 Million Grant Awarded to Westside
Thanks to the extraordinary effort of our hard working teachers, faculty, parents and the LAUSD, Westside Leadership has been awarded a $3 million grant to refocus our magnet program. All these funds are earmarked for spending on classroom instruction. September 2011 will mark our first year as a Global Leadership and International Languages Magnet. This is an incredible opportunity for all the students at Westside Leadership. There is much work to be done this year to prepare, so please contact Dr. Singer if you would like to help.

Welcome!
Welcome all new and returning students for the 2010/2011 school year. Our first day of school will be Monday, September 13, 2010. School will begin at 8:20am and end at 2:20pm for all students. Students should report to the covered eating area after the first bell at 8:15 AM. Elementary students will be directed to the assembly room to meet with their teachers and middle school students will be directed to their homerooms to retrieve their class schedules.
All students are expected to dress according to the school dress code. Shirts must be polo style in one of the following colors: black, white, green, gray, or maroon. Pants, shorts, and skirts should be cotton twill in either navy blue, black, or khaki.
